With the Reserve League having been cancelled, the only official matches being run in PFM are the European Championship Qualifiers.  To find out more about this, visit the Football Monkey website at www.footballmonkey.com.  To view Groups 1-5, the league ID is 1224, while Groups 6-10 is 1226.

Newcastle United manager Tommy McConnell has created a PFM resource web site at http://www.pfm.homestead.com/index.html
Visitors can view a number of stories and information about PFM and we hope that you support the site. Tommy has also set up a chat room which we hope you will all take advantage of. PFM board members will try and visit the chat room as often as possible to answer any queries you may have and to have a chat.
The PFM board would also like to thank Tommy for his hard work on the site.

Results and league tables have been updated on the Football Monkey web site for you to view. You can also view the fixtures for next weekend. Please note that two teams from each Group do not have a match next week so ensure that you check to see if your team are playing or not.
You should also be aware that you do not have to wait until Thursday's deadline to submit tactics, once league tables have been updated then you can send in tactics at any time to the PFM board. There really is no excuse for sending in late tactics, you have all week and not just Thursday.

The first set of reserve league matches were played today.  Results have been e-mailed to all managers.  At this stage we aren't planning on adding reports to the current website, but we may do so in the future.  Non-managers are able to request to view any report they so wish - e-mail the PFM Board with your request.  Thank you.

The PFM Reserve League is due to kick off this Saturday, 26th October.  The draw for the groups have been held, and managers can view them via e-mail.  To view them, go to http://www.footballmonkey.co.uk/ and type the League ID (on left side of page) as 1199

Today welcomes a new feature to the PFM site - "Player's Say".  This is a section where different players from different clubs talk to the press about all sorts of things - recent games, teammates, managers, anything.  It can be accessed from the Home page (this one) only, under the PFM Editorial section.

The Transfer Window has now been updated, for the final time this pre-season.  All managers are encouraged to check out this section of the site and reply to offers for their players by the due date.  Information on the OFC Nations Cup can also be found on the site now - simply follow the International Competitions link on the left.
We encourage all visitors to the site - managers and non-managers alike - to visit the PFM Forums.  This is the place where we can discuss the future of the game, and for people to make suggestions and ask questions of each other.  At the moment it is being underused, when it could answer a lot of the questions that the PFM Board regularly receives.  So be sure to check them out, as always, follow the link to the left.

Big apologies for the lack of site updates recently.  The site is now back and fully functioning once more.  Transfers and squads have been updated, as have cash balances.  The OFC Nations Cup is due to kick off in a weeks time, if you have a team involved please get in contact with the PFM Board.  A new round of Transfer Window bids is also set to follow in the very near future - make sure to regularly check that page.

As the final game of the first PFM/PFM season was played today, we can now close the season and announce that Season 1 is officially over. From all of us running the game, we hope you enjoyed the first season, thank you for all taking part, whether your team was successful or not you have all added something towards the success of the first season. Roleplaying is now officially over for this season, you may continue to roleplay if you wish but points will not be awarded now until further notice. We hope to have Season 2 running within the next 2-3 months, but we will contact all of the players directly with any information regarding this. Thanks again - The PFM Board.

The PFM Off-Season Challenge is set to kick off in Australia and New Zealand over the off season, during late May and throughout June.  The competition pits PFM clubs against invited international sides and local Australian and New Zealand league clubs, and does involve a small amount of prize money.  Its main aim though is to spread the popularity of PFM globally.  There is still one place for PFM clubs available, so if your club is interested in signing up, please e-mail the proper authorities ASAP.

We are pleased to announce today that LIVE commentary for division 2-4 matches will be on IRC on Saturday 6th April 2002 at 3:00pm GMT. Everyone is welcome into the channel to see how matches pan out before the reports are up on the web. The channel can be found on the Quakenet server and the channel name is #PFM. We hope to see you there. An announcement on the Division 1 matches which will be played on Wednesday will follow.

The PFM Board today announced that the transfer market for the season will close on the 1st April 2002, in a statement, Dr. Olivier Cadin announced - "it is wise for us to close the market at this stage. Previously the transfer market was closed towards the beginning of the season, and we understand that this was upsetting for a number of managers, but we believe that they will understand the reasons behind the closure."

Buck Hysen named his 22 man squad for the upcoming friendly match against Germany, there were a number of notable exceptions, and some surprise call ups in this very different looking side. Hysen received some knocks for his last team selection, and some may be surprised with his new line-up, see the England team here - England Team.

The PFM Board confirmed today that the draw for the PFM Cup Semi-Finals will take place in MIRC channel #PFM on Sunday 17th February 2002, at 11:30am GMT. All PFM managers and officials are welcome to attend the draw at PFM House.  PFM officials Cory Skilton and Dr. Olivier Cadin will be drawing the numbers. The PFM Cup Semi-Final draw will be followed by the draw for the Euro 2004 qualifiers, which will be hosted in Portugal, you can read more about it here - Newspaper.

  The fixture schedule has now been released for the upcoming Gold Cup Tournament, which is taking place in the U.S.A. between, the 17th February 2002, and concluding with the final on the 2nd of March 2002. The fixture schedule was released for the African Nations cup today, it has been announced that the tournament will start on the 26th January, lasting until the final on the 10th February. All African International players if selected for their teams will be unavailable during this period, or for as long as their nation remains in the tournament. Manchester United named their latest manager today. Despite asking for PFM managers applications for one of the biggest jobs in the game, the job went to a manager who hasn't managed in the PFM League before. The PFM Christmas break officially ends tomorrow, when the PFM House is fully staffed for the first time this year. In a hastily arranged statement, league official, Cory Skilton announced that transfers would re-open at 12:00GMT Monday 7th January 2002.

After a meeting at PFM House, it was decided that all referees should be named before the matches. This move was decided by the PFM Board to allow clubs knowledge of who will be controlling their games. The move was reportedly forced upon them, due to the high amount of cards already received this term. The referees have all been announced on the Fixtures pages.

The PFM Board has been notified that all bank balances have been changed to include the Cup money, and recent awards for International call ups.

Thursday 6th December 2001
The PFM Board today announced that their has been a slight fixture reshuffle to extend the Christmas break, the fixtures which were due to be played on the 5th January 2002 have been put back to the 19th, and those to be played on the 19th have been moved back to the 26th January. The first games after the Xmas break will be the PFM 2nd round matches on the 12th January 2002.

The PFM Board today announced that the transfer window will reopen on Monday 10th December, and will remain open until Friday 21st December, closing again until the new year.

The PFM Board confirmed today that the 2nd Round draw for the PFM Cup will take place in channel MIRC on Sunday 2nd December 2001, at 11:30am GMT. All PFM managers and officials are welcome to attend the draw at PFM House. As with the first Round, PFM officials Kevin Porter and Dr. Olivier Cadin will be drawing the numbers.

England manager Buck Hysen today announced his first squad of the season, ahead of the friendly against Holland at the PFM National Stadium on Saturday 24th November. Surprise call ups for Chris Perry, Michael Gray and Marcus Stewart may have raised a few eyebrows but Hysen has obviously picked a very in form squad to face the Dutch. Other nations involved in this weekends matches, including Holland, Scotland and Australia, announced their squads earlier this week.

Several stories have been added to the news and rumours page, including rumours concerning Henrik Larsson, Stan Collymore and several PFM clubs. The records page has also been updated, and you can now see how your club and players are fairing over the first few weeks of the season. A few other minor updates have occurred over the past 2 days, including results page, tables, etc. Squads will be updated within the next couple of days.

The PFM authorities have today confirmed that England will compete in their first International friendly of the season on Saturday 24th November 2001. England manager Buck Hysen is thought to have requested the friendly due to the break in PFM league action on that weekend. England's opponents will be Holland, who recently failed in their bid to reach the 2002 World Cup final. Scotland, led by new manager Rich McRich will face Australia on the same day. Both Hysen and McRich will announce their squads after confirming the availability of players from PFM clubs.

The 1st Round of the PFM Cup ( Which was drawn live in Mirc on the 1st November ) produced some exciting looking ties, many managers pick of the bunch is 1st Division leaders Arsenal travelling to 2nd Division leaders Everton. Despite the temporary ban on transfers, weekend results will remain as normal. Please could you all continue to RP and send in your tactics as usual and I can guarantee that match results, reports, league tables and squad stats will remain updated. PFM will NOT be closing, despite what some of you may think. At least not in the near future anyway. I would also like to thank everybody for their offer to help at this time. Although the biggest help you can give at this time is to continue as normal.

We are pleased to announce today that we have set up our own channel in MIRC's popular chat programme. Everyone is welcome into the channel providing they behave. The channel can be found on the Quakenet server and the channel name is #PFM. Although we will not be holding live results in #PFM, it is still a very good place for managers to come and chat on a regular basis.

We would also like to announce that we will be holding the draw for the 1st Round of the PFM Cup live on Thursday 1st November 2001, at 4:00pm GMT in #PFM.

With both the domestic transfer deadline and transfer market deadline being lifted today, the PFM League saw a surge of transfer activity today as managers around the country desperately tried to finalise deals that have been in the pipeline for many weeks. Many transfers have already been confirmed by the PFM Board and you can visit the Latest Transfers page to see which deals have been confirmed so far.

PFM Chairmen caused outrage this week by announcing plans to put a block on unnecessary transfers. Some PFM managers have hit back though by blasting the PFM Board. The PFM Board have announced today that the transfer embargo for domestic transfers will be lifted on 13th October 2001. With the foreign transfer market also opening on the same day the PFM league could see some exciting transfers taking place over the next few weeks.

The PFM Board announced yesterday that managers can begin role-playing on October 6th. They have also hinted today that the first  PFM league season could kick off as early as November. The official PFM Newspaper has reported on today's events. You can read the story here.

Premier Management Football are pleased to announce that managers can begin Role-playing as from Saturday 6th October 2001. A Role-Play list will be sent out to all managers nearer the time, with full instructions. Any manager who is still unsure what is expected of them when role-playing, should visit the sample role-play page or register with our forums and seek advice from more experienced managers. If you have any questions then don't hesitate to email the PFM Board.
