DES BYRNE WALKS OUT

Irish Youngster To Tear Up Wimbledon Contract

by Johnny Gilbert for PMF News

Des Byrne caused yet another stir today when his agent announced he was walking out on Wimbledon, after being told he would 'never play for Wimbledon again'.

The Irish Under-21 player was found guilty of using a glass bottle as a weapon in an alleged brawl which occurred at a popular London nightspot a few months ago.

Other people arrested for the crime were found not guilty, placing enormous pressure on Byrne.

And the player has reacted to Wimbledon's placement of him on the transfer list by vowing never to return again.

The player's management agency, Donald & Sons, told reporters in a statement today that "Desmond Byrne will not be returning to Wimbledon Football Club ever".

Byrne was suspended from using the club's training facilities after the guilty verdict.

It is now expected that Byrne will voluntarily terminate the remainder of his contract, surrendering any money owed to him, believed to be around £75,000.

The young star, who is apparently being watched by Division 4 club Bolton Wanderers and a number of Scottish Premier League outfits, is set to take the club to court in the near future, after seeking legal advice.
