PLAYERS HEAD OFF FOR THE GOLD CUP

By Mark Chang for PMF News

The large PMF contingent of Americas' players all headed off to Mexico this morning, to prepare themselves for the Gold Cup which starts in the next few of days.

A lot of stars, and big name players will now be missing from their clubs for almost three weeks, as they try to win the Gold Cup tournament.

Of the teams that were hit the hardest, Arsenal will be without three of their players, as Osorno, Beasley and Pierre-Louis all link up with their national sides.

Other  players who will be  missed by their club sides are, De Nigris (Ipswich), Max Moore (Ipswich), Kellar (Sheff Wed), Reyna (Newcastle), Friedel (Blackburn), Wanchope (Man City), Hislop (Liverpool), John (Notts Forest), Brennan (Notts Forest), Forrest (West Ham), Peschisolido (Barnsley), Delgado (Bolton), Aguinaga (Derby), Manuel Chala (Derby).

One noticeable absentee is Eddie Lewis of Fulham, who was withdrawn from the competition by Ruan Daniels when the tournament was arranged.

Tournament favourites are U.S.A., who have had a good build up to the tournament so far, although the hosts Mexico are being hotly tipped also.

Whatever happens, it will be a great spectacle, and will surely provide some more superstars into the already dazzling PMF league.
