JONES ACCUSED OF CORRUPTION

By Mark Chang for PMF News

In a sensational turn of events, Everton manager Aussie Jones was this morning accused of corruption and bias from a small faction of disgruntled fans after a leaked report.

The report allegedly contained a series of printed e-mails between Jones himself and best friend Bill Bruce, former assistant manager of the Liverpool-based club and now team manager of the Solomon Islands national squad.  The e-mails reportedly outlined a number of players which the Australian manager is keen on signing for the Toffees, to follow in the footsteps of Islands players Sami Aefi and Sami Daudau, signed last month from local clubs.

The fans, season ticket holders who wish to remain anonymous, told PMF News that “Jones is as good as corrupt if he signs these unknown players”.  It would be an ironic twist for Jones, as he is seen as a great ‘fighter for good against the evil of corruption’ following the Zhang Yuning episode which affected the club earlier this season.

Gertrude Gobb, a secretary at Goodison Park, confirmed that Jones is currently monitoring the performances of a number of Solomon Islands players.  Although she did not mention names, she did say “there are four or five players from there (the Solomon Islands) that Aussie is getting regular e-mails about, from Bill Bruce.”

With corruption claims already harming the club earlier this year, this is surely another unwanted claim as Everton round off their league season with just two weeks to go.  He is sure to have some explaining to do should any more players of little international repute find themselves at the club’s exclusive Bellefield training ground in the near future.
