TRANSFER D-DAY LOOMS EVER CLOSER

Experts advise caution on October 13th

As the transfer D-Day looms ever closer, the rumours of big money transfers continues to spread throughout the league. The official PMF newspaper asked our very own business analyst Max Hedley and football correspondents Liam Braid and Mark Walker to delve deeper into the rumours, and try to work out whether the big moves are sound investments or is the bottom ready to fall out before a ball has even been kicked.

Chief Business Analyst, Max Hedley has had over 20 years experience in the Financial area, and has warned PMF clubs to show caution as transfer D-Day approaches, He said "After liaising with a number of accountants and business associates I think it is very unwise for the PMF community to "rush buy" anybody at the minute. Other leagues worldwide have much more financial stability at the present time, and can negotiate deals between clubs at standards which PMF will currently be unable to reach. There have been rumours that Fabio Cannavaro is being touted as possibly being interested in moving to a top PMF club. However, the league is so new that I would be very surprised if a player valued above 30 million does attract attention here."

Hedley went on, "There are world class foreigners who have expressed an interest in moving to clubs in the PMF league, which has surprised a lot of people, as many believed that the league would have to have more stability before attracting the top names."

Football Correspondent, Liam Braid, believes that the pull of top name
managers has attracted the attention to the league, Braid stated, "When the league can boast such power horses as Palat, Moeri and Skilton, then it is obvious that it will bring with it the attention from all across the globe.
For players such as Van Bommel, Carew and Deisler to express an interest in moving into this fledgling league can only prove the point that they believe that big money will be available. Television rights, kit sales and of course crowds flocking to see the PMF clubs will bring more money into the game, and surely even bigger names."

His colleague, Mark Walker, however expresses more concern, "I would hate to see an even greater influx of foreigners into the game, some players have expressed an interest in playing in PMF, and in all honesty, I've never heard of some of them. I for one wouldn't want to see a bunch of cheap East Europeans ploughing around my beloved Maine Road."

Hedley, though, with all his financial know how was the one with the final
word of caution, "It isn't just the players from other leagues which will sap
money from the PMF league, it is the clubs themselves, the PMF League will only succeed if the clubs work together."

So as October 13th draws nearer, we have drawn up a list of hotly rumoured transfers which have found their way in gossip columns and back pages across the land:

Van Bommel and Reviellere are reportedly sought after by Manchester United, the two Neville brothers have been rumoured to be on their way out to help fund deals, with Phil being linked with Division one rivals  Tottenham. Derby are chasing Manchester United's Quinton Fortune, with rumours that Seth Johnson could be going the other way.

Georgi Ivanov has reportedly been watched on a number of occasions by Everton officials. The Merseyside club are rumoured to be looking for some new blood upfront, there are also reports that Stefan Klos could be the new keeper that Everton are reportedly close to signing.

Titus Bramble looks set to have kicked his last ball for Ipswich Town as an unnamed top flight club is reportedly close to closing a deal to prize the youngster away from Portman Road. Fulham are
hot on the heels of Hakan Sukur who has said that he would be interested in moving to a PMF club. However, the biggest rumour that we've heard recently is that Emile Heskey will move to Newcastle United, with Kieron Dyer going the other way.

Whatever happens, October 13th is certainly going to prove a key date in most peoples diaries as an eager PMF community await just what effect Transfer D-Day will have on clubs around the country.
