EVERTON PLAYER CLAIMS INNOCENCE

Yuning claims he didn't know of the scandal involved in his signing

by Mark Chang for PMF News

Everton player, Zhang Yuning is reportedly seeking legal advice if Everton try to release him from his contract it is now understood.

Yuning who signed only a matter of weeks ago is understood to be furious that he is being made the scapegoat to the internal problems surrounding his signing.

In todays national newspaper in China, Yuning has gone on record to say, "I am shocked at the way that Everton have treated me. I have come here with a great international pedigree, and as a regular in the China squad I am amazed at the treatment I have received since the incident came to light."

Yuning went on to say, "I had no idea of the background in my deal, all that I was aware of was that due to my contract running out, and myself wanting to move abroad I was available to go to the first interested club that I wanted to move to. My name was mentioned to clubs in Germany, The Netherlands, France and Scotland aswell as being mentioned to the PMF League. It was a delight for me to sign to such a high profile club as Everton, but this has gone terribly sour."

Yuning believes he still has a lot to offer the club, although Everton are now looking to cancel his contract. Yuning stated, "I have scored goals at club and International level, and I know that I can score goals for Everton. I can only hope that the Everton management believe that I had nothing to do with the incident, and to give me an opportunity to prove what I can do."

When asked about the legal advise he had taken, Yuning said, "I don't want this to become a legal wrangle, I do hope that they (Everton) realise their mistake, if the worse comes to the worse though, I have had a meeting with my lawyer and we will take the matter further if need be."

The PMF Board have decided against unregestering the Chinese International, putting it off to see if the problems go away, or it is dealt with internally.

PMF Liaiason Officer, Dr. Olivier Cadin, late in the morning simply said, "We have received an application from Everton to unregister the player as Everton wish to release him from his contract, due to the legal standings and complaint from Yuning, we have decided that it is too early to unregister the player, therefore as far as we are concerned Yuning is still an Evertonian."
