EXCITEMENT MOUNTS AS CLUBS CHASE TITLE GLORY With the PMF season only weeks away from ending and only two league matches left to play, it is still unsure who will capture the 1st and 2nd division titles. Bradford City have already claimed the 3rd division title as they are comfortable with a seven point lead at the top of the table. The remaining promotion place from division three is far less decided as Derby County still aren't out of the race, and are capable of catching favourites Sheffield Wednesday, and Fulham in the closing weeks of the season in the fight to join Bradford City in division two next season. Division four also looks clear cut as Manchester City continue their dominating ways at the top of the table. Five points clear and only two league defeats all season City would also have to falter pretty badly in the closing weeks to lose their grip on the title. Although Wolves, Nottingham Forest and Birmingham City are all still in with a shout, and the desire to gain the second promotion spot may just see one of them catch City, should they slip up. City may also find the PMF Cup a distraction, as the only 4th division side left in the competition and a semi final clash against Derby County to look forward to, the Manchester club may just drop valuable points in the league. Arguably the closest and most exciting title race this season will be in the top division, where Liverpool and Newcastle United are both in with a terrific chance of landing the first ever PMF 1st division title. With Manchester United also in with a slim outside chance the first division title race could yet become one of the closest in years. Liverpool or Newcastle United are many people's tips to land the title as there has hardly been a thing between the two teams all season. Although Manchester United have catapulted themselves into the equation in recent weeks under the guidance of former Arsenal manager Ani Palat. With Chris Porter's Leeds United seven points off the pace he will be hoping that his side still have a part to play in the title run in, and at very least they could yet prove to be a thorn in the leader's side. What is certain is that we will see many more twists and turns before the end of the season. Almost as unclear as the top division is the second division, where Everton, have already guaranteed promotion. Middlesbrough still look favourites to join them in the top flight, however Aston Villa and Charlton Athletic also have an outside chance of capturing the second promotion spot, although 4 points off the pace they will have to win their remaining matches and hope that Boro slip up badly to have any hope. The race for the title has been an interesting one since day one of the season. And with some divisions still very much undecided it will certainly remain an interesting title race until the last day of the season. We will wait with baited breath to see just who will become the first ever PMF champions.
